Motives Shining Through

When I was eighteen and in my second year of university, I spent a year studying at an international faculty in Indonesia. It was a very lonely year for me so I tried to participate in as many extra-curricular activities as I could.

It was at one of these, a visit to a village primary school, that I met Alvin. He was the son of the principal and in my eyes he was very cool. Leather jacket, motorbike, the works. I was extremely surprised and fairly flattered when he showed interest in me, especially when he asked me on a date. Of course, I said yes.

The big day came and he picked me up on his motorbike. It turned out he didn’t have any particular plans and I was very nervous so I didn’t suggest anything either. We drove around a bit and he suggested that he could show me around his village. Sounded cool.

Actually, this just meant going back to his place and sitting around in his bedroom talking. Again I had no problem with this. It was only when the conversation lulled, which didn’t take long given the language barrier (his English was limited and my Indonesian wasn’t quite fluent), that things turned weird.

Alvin sort of laughed in a creepy way and said “eheheh, I have to go wash my dick.” He looked at me, he looked down at his pants, and nodded suggestively.

That was it for me, really. I asked him to take me home and he didn’t refuse, but was reluctant and delayed, so I ended up just leaving and wandering around the village for about an hour before I found a taxi that could take me home.

I didn’t hear from him again.
